I´ve finally finished it ... Whopaa !
Warnings: None that I know of :)
Disclaimer: I don´t own anything, except the story (which is not much :)

………I nodded in acknowledgement and took a deep breath. "Well, she came here at 19:30 sharp. She looked a little bit disturbed but I permit, she could've been acting.
………She asked: "You're Nero Wolfe?" and I could tell right away that she was British.
………Anyway, I had to admit that I'm not Mr. Wolfe. Then I told her: "If you want to see him, you'll have to wait for exactly twenty-nine minutes." She nodded and I carried on: "Until then, you can keep me entertained by telling me why you're here. My name is Archie Goodwin."
………She took my outstretched hand and then introduced herself: "My name's Dolores Dinozzo. Are you also a detective, Mr. Goodwin?" I nodded and she went on: "I have a problem I want Mr. Wolfe to take care of. Will you be able to tell him?" I nodded again. "In that case, I'll tell you. I think, that someone wants to hurt me. I even saw a man following me."
………I asked: "So, you saw him. Can you describe him?"
………"Yes, she was a little higher than you, had black hair, dark sunglasses and something gold in his ear. Possibly an earring. He was clad in light-blue shirt and black trousers. Or pants, how you Americans call it."
………I made up my mind even before she was finished describing. I didn't buy it at all. The sunglasses were acceptable, but the earring? I would have to see a movie of it. I asked her a few more impertinent questions, but it didn't get any better, so I excused myself and went upstairs to disturb Mr. Wolfe. I gave him the verbatim and he told me to remove her. So I did."
………Inspector Japp frowned. "Removed her?"
………"Saw her off," I explained.
………"Very well," started Wolfe, "we told you our story, now tell us yours. What did she do? Why do you think, she killed anyone?"
………"She's believed to have some connections with the mafia. We don't have a victim or anything, if you want to know. She's been seen with a certain man named Clarence Fazzini, an Italian citizen and supposed member of local mafia."
………I lifted an eyebrow at his expression. It is a well-known fact, that there's something called ´mafia´ in the States but to call it a local mafia was a little bit exaggerated. However, I didn't say anything as I didn't want to be disrespectful and let him continue. As he did: "But we know that she did commit something. She stole a Jaguar from one of the business managers in New York, Mr. Andrew Arnold, and disposed of it in the West Docks."
………"Why would she want to do that?" I asked unbelievingly.
………It didn´t throw him off. "I don't know, ask her. Envy, jealousy, madness - pick one."
………Wolfe looked over at me. "I don't think, I understand the situation."
………I smiled. "Well, she basically took his brand new Jaguar and drove it in the Hudson river."
………"Jaguar?" he asked.
………I nodded. "Yes, Jaguar. It´s one of those fancy cars that most of the people can't afford. You can but you wouldn't be able to fit in it."
………Wolfe scowled at me, but didn't say anything. Japp continued: "She claims she didn't do it. Says she was at home watching TV, but there's no witness, of course."
………Wolfe shook his head. "That does not mean, she's not telling the truth. I suppose that there's no witness to support your theory either, is there?"
………Now it was Japp's turn to shake his head. I caught myself smiling. What I got from their conversation, was that my assumption concerning Miss Dinozzo was correct. She didn't kill anyone, not even the Jaguar. My internal celebration was interrupted by Captain Hastings: "Oh, but there is a witness. Mr. Arnold saw her tow truck. She was already driving away, when he noticed her plate number. She went down the West 48th Street, than turned left on 9th Avenue."
………I tensed. Something fishy was going on. Wolfe looked over at me and raised his eyebrows. "Archie?"
………I shook my head slowly. "I don't know, sir, but I don't buy it."
………Monsieur Poirot frowned. "Can you tell us why, Mr. Goodwin?"
………I shrugged. "I have no idea. It's probably just an instinct or my subconsciouss or something."
………Poirot turned over to his friend: "Hastings, can you repeat, what you've just said?"
………Captain opened his mouth, but I interrupted him. "That's fine, I remember. He said: ´Oh, but there is a witness. Mr. Arnold saw her tow truck. She was already-" I stopped abruptly. I finally caught up to my subconsciouss.
………"Archie?" Wolfe looked impatient.
